St Dunstan's in the East Wedding • The Swan at The Globe Wedding • A London Wedding

This couple’s day was one of the first of many Covid-19 weddings. With a worldwide pandemic thrown their way which led to multiple restrictions, they decided to take matters into their own hands and make sure they had the wedding they wished for.

They had their minds set on a first look, and when this was threatened they decided to take this moment elsewhere and choose the stunning location of St Dunstans in the East. This is an old bombed church that has been left to grow beautiful foliage and is now tended to as a park. Nestled over the river from The Globe, it provided a perfect backdrop for the first look!

I met the groom there first and discussed the best position for light, framing and somewhere away from other Londoners. We knew that his bride wanted to be static so we arranged for him to be the one to come around the corner and tap her on the shoulder. Everything was prepped and as the beautiful bride arrived and he hid out of sight, last minute touches were given by her parents before The groom saw his bride for the first time!

I wish more people would do this! It’s such a beautiful moment with just the two of you! These guys allowed some time afterwards too to get their couple photos so that they were all done when everyone was looking perfect!

Hopping in a taxi we drove over the Thames to The Swan at the Globe, another stunning location with views over to St Paul’s - especially on a day like theirs with such beautiful weather!

The ceremony was made extremely personal with music played and the bride’s father, who is a pastor, providing the service. As this was a family religious service, there were no registras so they could have prayers and songs sung by the vocalist, it also meant it could be longer which was so lovely.

Afterwards we went for the most lovely stroll along the river to the Millenium bridge, it was so beautifully chilled and relaxed, we had so much fun and I absolutely LOVED the whole day - it really was perfect and proved that you can have a beautiful wedding even in a pandemic!
